When you blame yourself, you learn from it. If you blame someone else, you don't learn nothing, cause hey, it's not your fault, it's his fault, over there. -Joe Strummer
I've got lots to say about lots of stuff, but it'll have to wait. My kitty, Kahlua, is pretty ill. I'm not certaqin if she's gonna make it. So, any good thoughts you can send her way are appreciated.
By way of an update, they did blood tests, and there are a few possibilities. It could be a brain tumor. It could be some kind of toxic reaction, and it could be brain damage. And there's the ever-present unknown. But, for now, she's alive and home.
I hate vets. They don't know shit. How old is your Kitty Cat? And that ever present -unknown. Means more test which means more money. But it really ain't the money...it's the not knowing.
Yeah, Vets are just about as screwy as human Docs.
Kahlua is about 6. 5 years old. She was born sometime in 2001, not really sure when, but we got her in June/July of that year, and she was a tiny kitten.
Yes, more tests. But, I think the vets finally heard me when I said to one "Look, I won't hold you to this, but what does your gut tell you? I know what my gut is telling me, and I know what my wife's gut is telling her, but you're the only one with training, so I'd really like to know: what would you do, what would you think, if this was your cat?
It was about then that I got a lot less"well, we could try this experimental idea," or "Well, let's try this drug" and a lot more "Let's look at the file, let's try to see what we already know" followed up by the notion (which I didn't suggest, but had suspected all along) that she could have consumed something toxic, and was still trying to get over it, or was still consuming it on the sly. we joke that Kahlua is a little drug addict because she has had some pretty odd behaviours for a long time: stuff like eating non-food items, and licking at plastic, and photos. It wouldn't surprise me at all if she had gotten into some cleaning product or something, and was slowly poisoning herself.
